March 12, 2005 The Installation of PSR Bugatti wheel assemblies is available. Click here for link. Alfa Wheels will be available fall of 2005. Wheels will be available with or without brake drums. Email for pre-order. Price will be in the same range as the Bugatti wheel sets. The plan is to build five sets at this time. Feb 13, 2005 Here are several pics of the Superprofile body on a Bugatti chassis to give you some idea how the PSR wire wheels look on this body style.
For Alfa fans I have figured out how to get the proper spoke angle for Alfa wheels and will be offering those soon. Pricing will be in the same range as the Bugatti wheels. I am also batching 12 sets of Alfa outer and inner brake drum sets. These will be available with or without cooling holes and processed either to a satin polish shine or glass bead blasted finish. Pricing will be US$35 ea for the outer brake drum ($140/set) and US$38 for the inner backing plate ($152/set). As well, 12 sets of Mercedes brake drums in Aluminum will be batched and offered at US$140/set. Jan 16, 2005 Aluminum brake drum kits for Alfa's, replacement aluminum brake drums for Mercedes, and wire wheels for Alfa's are coming soon. Nov 6, 2004 Bugatti Wheels have taken a lot longer than anticipated. Here are some JPEG's on the PSR R&D Bugatti. If I ever get time I'll mock up the Superprofile body and post pics. (Two sets are still available). April 17,2004 Here are some pics showing a set of Bugatti wheels going together, a couple of sets of Alfa drums ready to ship, and a set of Bugatti outer rims. If you look closely you can see how the Alfa break drums are assembled - there is a machined spacer that press fits into the backing plate to match the kit pieces and two brass spacers to allow mounting of the stock brake shoes. Two finishes are also shown, polished and beadblasted . Bugatti Wire Wheel Update - Jan 2, 2004 The first Bugatti wheels are back from the chromer, and they look spectacular. As usual, my chromer (House of Silver) did a fantastic job! A laced up wheel can be seen here. (The wheel is fully laced, but not all the spoke nipples have been installed). As always, please disregard my decrepit T50 - one day it will be rebuilt, but until then its main purpose in life will be as an R&D test bed. In the photos you will see several brake drum configurations. Orders will be shipped with aluminum brake drums, these can be painted to any desired color, left in their natural state, or polished. I prefer the black as this really shows off the spokes but, from what I have seen, most of the concours cars are left natural or polished. The drilled brake drum is for use on the Alfa kits - the pic is shown so you can get an idea of how it would look (the Alfa wheel is a lot skinnier so you'll have to use your imagination). Enjoy. The following items will also be supplied with the wheel kits:
The prototype work is completed, pricing is set, and work has commenced on the manufacture of five wheel sets.. |

Now Available - Bugatti Outer Rim Replacements If you are looking to put a little more realism into your Pocher Bugatti, then this may be the item for you. Machined out of aluminum, and slightly polished, (highly polished if you choose!) these outer rims are drop dead gorgeous and more importantly, they are replicas of the actual cast wheel rims used on a Type 50 . There is a minor hitch to all this though, but don't be worried, it is not insurmountable. The Pocher plastic rim assemblies need to have some minor machining performed on them to accept the rims. I can perform the machining operations for you, (at no charge) or you can have your local machinist do the work. I will gladly supply you with the required turning information. Price: US$38.00 each |

Found - A Bugatti Superprofile with Wire Wheels B&W Photo courtesy Veloce Publishing - www.veloce.co.uk From the book: Big Bugattis 46 & 50 by Barrie Price I'm very excited about this find! The above b&w photo shows a Bugatti T46 chassis with a T50 Superprofile body. The top photo shows the T46 as originally delivered, to the USA, with wire wheels. The bottom photo shows the car after it was placed in the Bugatti museum, also known as the Schlumph Collection. The museum was responsible for changing the wheels to the cast magnesium type. Personally, I prefer the wire wheel look. The T46 and T50 are basically the same chassis and engine set up, except for the addition of twin cams on the T50. Many thanks to Michael Toomey (Bugatti model club editor), and Herman Brouwer, for information on the Superprofile above, and Bugattis in general.
The plan at this stage is to start research on Bugatti wire wheels and put
together some scale plans
